Copenhagen Fashion Week ran Wednesday August 3 through to Sunday August 7 and a reminder that outside the fashionista-elite attended, keenly anticipated and extensively reported Fashion Weeks of the capitals of England, USA, Italy and France each Spring and Autumn, that throughout the year and the world you are never too far away from a Week of Fashion Shows.
Copenhagen Fashion Week – who style Copenhagen as not just Denmark’s capital but Scandinavia’s Fashion Capital – focuses on their home-grown fashion designers with little of the international presence associated with those aforementioned four catwalk capitals – Hugo Boss being the only label featured in this Spring Summer Show that has global renown
One such Scandinavian designer is Dane Dennis Lyngsø. According to his own website he seeks to bridge the gap between the elegant and the practical. And that he aspires to sculptural exclusivity, characterized by a continuous quest for luxurious sensuality, womanly strength and delicate couture.
His Spring Summer collection shown last week was of a black and white colour palette offset by cream and brown. Not all the pieces in his collection could be described as sculptural – the best in this collection though were those architectured outfits.
The hair was singularly sculptural too and which was styled by WELLA and Marta Spizewska.
And in short, I like! The Fashion Runway is a crowded competitive space clamouring for our attention. Dennis Lyngsø is a Fashion Designer who has my attention and who I look forward his future collections.
